Kalkanli has some of the oldest olive trees in Northern Cyprus reaching ages of 750 – 1000 years. The fields make part of popular walking paths around Kormacit and are a standard part of ecotourism and agrotourism programs.
Kormacit is a perfect starting point to explore the west coast (Güzelyurt, Lefke, Yesilirmak), the central part of Northern Cyprus (Kyrenia, Nicosia, St Hilarion), as well as the Southern part of the island (Troodos, Limassol Paphos, Akamas).
Troodos Mountains are situated in the Southern part of Cyprus and are easily reached from Kormacit through the check-point Bostanci in the near of Güzelyurt. It is a popular place for ecotourism, agrotourism and cultural excursions.
There are many thematic festivals in the area around Kormacit (Kormakitis), which attract locals as well as tourists. Most of the festivals have agrotourism and ecotourism themes like orange, olive, carob festivals, etc. Dance performances and exhibitions are parts of the diversified program of each festival.
Corona Beach is located on the coastal road home to the small Chapel St George of the seeds and has also a nice restaurant and cafe. It is a popular spot for water sports, biking and walking tours.
