St George Cathedral

Saint George’s Cathedral was built in 1930 and is dedicated to the village’s patron saint. Construction began in 1900, based on designs by Maltese architect Fenec and Maltese civil engineer Cafiero. The village inhabitants contributed through donations to support its construction. Before 1974, the church served as the official place of worship for the Maronite Church of Cyprus. Today, it continues to be used by the remaining residents in Kormacit. Inside, the church museum houses religious icons and artifacts dating back to the 12th century.
