Kormacit holds one of only two churches in North Cyprus, where a christian mass is hold every day:
- St George’s Cathedral for the maronite rite
- St Andrew’s monastery in Karpaz for the orthodox rite
It is interesting to observe the interference between the Catholic and Orthodox rites as practiced by the Maronites. Few exemples: the use of icons and statues or the use of oblates during the eucharisty vs. distribution of leavened bread after the mass.
